概覽
Prime (帝旺, Dì Wàng) is the fifth of the Twelve Life Stages and the most powerful — and it describes an element's qi, never a person. The name means 'imperial flourishing'. This is the element at its absolute peak: maximum strength, fullest expression, the top of the energy curve. With Sprouting, Tomb, and Void, it is one of the four most-watched stages.
Prime is the zenith — and, in the logic of the cycle, also the turning point, since after the peak the only way is down. Classically a very strong placement, sometimes almost too strong: an element at full Prime can dominate a chart, which is powerful when the chart can use it and overbearing when it cannot.
在命盤中
An element at Prime reads as at its strongest — commanding, fully resourced, the dominant force at that position. Whether that is good or difficult depends entirely on whether the chart wants that element strong; Prime amplifies, it does not judge. This is about the element's potency, not the person's success or status.

Yang Wood (甲) is at Prime in Mao (卯): Wood at its absolute peak in mid-spring — the strongest Wood can be. The yin stems run the cycle in reverse, reaching Prime at a different branch.
