BaZi (Four Pillars)

10 entries — The ten role-categories of Bazi (八字 / Four Pillars) — each describes the Day Master's relationship to another element. Standard term first, our archetype label alongside.

8 entries — The named markers (神煞) Bazi readers layer onto a chart by fixed lookup rules — Nobleman, Peach Blossom, Travelling Horse, and others. They are not computed anywhere in our chart engine; each page describes the tradition, including where schools disagree.

5 entries — The five elemental phases of Bazi (八字 / Four Pillars) — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water — and the generating / controlling cycles that bind them. The foundation everything else is read through.

10 entries — The ten Heavenly Stems (天干) of Bazi — each an element crossed with a polarity, and a specific image (the timber, the sun, the blade). The two stems of one element differ in form, not strength.

12 entries — The twelve Earthly Branches (地支) of Bazi — calendrical units that mark the hours, months, and seasons, each carrying hidden stems (藏干). The branch is the name; the zodiac animal (Rat, Ox…) is only its popular label.

24 entries — The twenty-four solar terms (二十四節氣) — astronomical instants, not fixed calendar days, that the BaZi month pillar actually runs on. Twelve 節 open a new month pillar; the twelve 氣 between them mark the season's midpoint but move nothing in the chart.

12 entries — The twelve-stage cycle (十二長生) that tracks an element's qi from Sprouting through Prime to Void and back. A metaphor for an energy curve — the strength of an element at each branch — NOT a forecast of a person's life.
